Westside Devils to drive youth development through Reynolds
Westside Devils Junior Soccer Club and Launceston City Football Club
has furthered their commitment to junior and youth football development
with the announcement that former Young Socceroo Captain, NSL player
and FFT Technical Director, Kurt Reynolds will partner with the clubs
through the Launceston City Devils Development Squad.
With over 600 registered players, Westside Devils and its senior club,
Launceston City FC are the largest soccer club in northern Tasmania.
The club is based at Mitsubishi Park, Prospect.
In addition to our club squads and local competition there is a strong and
growing appetite for more football opportunities at junior and youth level,”
commented Austin Fagan, committee member.
The Launceston City Devils Development Squad programs are designed
to complement and enhance young player’s football development through
one additional training session per week which is absolutely aligned with
the National Football Curriculum content and Skill acquisition training.
The program currently caters for players aged from 9 to 16 .
Having launched our development squad in 2012 we wish to build upon
the offer, grow participants and deliver a quality football development
program. We believe that Reynolds brings the football experience,
knowledge, accreditations and personality to drive the programs forward.”
he added.
At present over 30 players are involved in the clubs development programs,
which mid to longer term, will provide a crucial pathway into the
Victory League with the Launceston City senior club.
Effective from Monday 27th May Reynolds will commence facilitating the
sessions, mentoring club coaches and working with the club on potential
future projects.
I am delighted to be back working with Westside Devils and Launceston City
and value the proactive approach of the clubs in relation to developing their
young players. Most importantly I look forward to working with the players
and providing them with quality content in order to help them improve to the
highest possible level in the game.” said Reynolds, who is currently
completing his FFA A Licence.
